BUTTS FARM SUPPORT GROUP: Two years ago Butts Farms Support Group was set up to provide Advice, Information, Advocacy and Support to BME Communities including Asylum Seekers and Refugees living on Butts Farm Estate. The Group is held twice a month on Wednesdays from 10am to 1pm. An average attendance of 6 people at each session has received support on various issues, i.e.. benefits, housing, police matters, etc. Where we have not been able to help they have been sign-posted/referred to appropriate agencies, such as Housing Associations, Social Services, police and others. Support is provided by filling in forms, translating letters, explaining information, making telephone calls to sort out consumer problems, reporting repairs, etc. We can proudly say that over the past year, the group has been a success and has achieved set targets.
