BIKE ACROSS CULTURES EVENT This community event has grown from strength to strength and forms part of EMAG’s ethnic health programme. It was planned, organised & run in partnership with Kingston Racial Equality Council and 7 local Black & Minority Ethnic community groups. The event took place on 11th June 2005 in Richmond Park with 150 cyclists and 35 walkers taking part. Well over 200 people attended on the day which aimed to bring together diverse communities and promote the benefits of cycling and walking. The event offered activities run by community members, information packs containing details of local groups and agencies, and a chance to meet with service staff. Twelve BME community groups took part on the day. Bike Across Cultures has become a well-established community event in the Borough and is hugely valued by both community members/groups and services involved including the PCT, the Council, Community Police and voluntary agencies.
